Greg Martinette

Greg Martinette serves as president of the Southwest Johnson County Economic Development Corporation which includes New Century Commerce Center and the City of Gardner. Greg has worked with global companies and location consultants in the economic development arena for over 30 years. Through projects involving some of the largest companies in the world, Greg’s efforts have helped lead to the creation of thousands of jobs, millions in local tax revenues, and billions in local capital investments and new payroll. Greg has worked with companies including Transamerica, Amazon, Unilever, McDonnell-Douglas, Kubota, Harley-Davidson, CitiFinancial, Wal-Mart and Bank of America, as well as local retail chains and service businesses.

Greg began his economic development career in the utility industry, leading teams and innovating site location solutions at Contel/GTE and Missouri Public Service/UtiliCorp United/Aquila. At Utilitcorp he led the creation of LOIS – Location One Information System, which has since become a leading site and building database nationally, owned by Evergy. Prior to coming to Southwest Johnson County, Greg worked as a private economic development consultant assisting communities in the Midwest with business attraction and retention, as well as marketing and consulting services. Greg focuses on exceeding customer needs, excellent partner relationships and making sure everyone wins on development deals.

Greg grew up in Grandview, MO and is graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Krissie Coop

Director of Digital Content & Social Media

Southwest Johnson County Kansas EDC

Krissie has a Bachelor of Health Sciences degree with a minor in Healing and Humanities from the University of Missouri Kansas City. She has extensive experience working in the staffing industry working with clients like Apple, Micron, Nordstrom’s, Waste Management, University of Kansas Hospital, and Western Digital. Her experience also includes requisitions from a variety of industries including technology, Human Resources, light industrial labor, administrative and IT healthcare.

She joins the EDC as Director of Digital Content & Social Media.
