On December 15, the Southwest Johnson County Kansas Economic Development Corporation (EDC) welcomed Meghan McDermott as Economic Development Director. McDermott will be working 30+ hours per week, splitting her time between the EDC and the Gardner Edgerton Chamber. She will work primarily in the Chamber office from 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

A Gardner native, Meghan earned a degree in Chemistry from the University of Kansas. While studying, she worked as an Administrative Assistant at Olathe Toyota and as a Financial Relationship Specialist at CommunityAmerica Credit Union. Meghan met her husband at Gardner Edgerton High School, and married him in 2010. They have two little ones, Collin (four) and Harper (eight months), who Meghan has been at home with for the last eight months.
