Gardner Historical Museum
The Gardner Historical Museum was established to preserve the history of Gardner and the surrounding area. The Gardner Historical Museum is in the former home of Herman B. Foster, a proprietor with Arthur Bigelow of Bigelow-Foster Mercantile in downtown Gardner. It was built in 1893. The Gardner Historical Museum highlights the history, memorabilia, and artifacts of Gardner.
Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens
The 300-acre Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens is an educational, recreational and cultural resource for the Kansas City region.
At the Arboretum, you’ll experience gardens with more than 1,700 species of plants, a variety of landscapes, including meticulous gardens, wild hiking trails, and open prairie, and different educational opportunities around every bend in the path.

Celebration Park Sports Complex:
The Celebration Park Sports Complex is an 83-acre park featuring baseball and soccer fields, concession stands, shelters and picnic areas, playgrounds, walking and jogging trails, a 10-acre lake, and large passive open areas for a variety of uses.

New Century Fieldhouse:
New Century Fieldhouse is Johnson County’s premier indoor sports and multi-use facility.
The fieldhouse features a large indoor turf field great for a variety of field sports and activities, and has over 40,000 square-feet of court space that can be setup in a variety of configurations, including:
- Eight volleyball courts
- Four basketball courts
- Four futsal courts
- Pickleball courts

Southwest Johnson County Trails
Recreation trails can be found throughout Southwest Johnson County. From the Gardner Greenway to Cedar Lake, there are areas for recreation enthusiasts to explore.

Gardner Greenway
The Gardner Greenway Corridor is fully accessible to the public and features a 1.6-mile walking trail. Special features include park benches, donated by Sprint, and a looped trail perfect for walking, jogging, bike riding, or rollerblading. The Gardner Greenway connects Winwood Park and Brookside Park.
Cedar Lake
Cedar Lake Park in Olathe, Kansas, features walking trails, a recreational lake, and different shelters for picnics and gatherings. Park amenities include volleyball courts, grills, and fire rings.
Gardner Aquatic Center
The Gardner Aquatic Center offers a clean and safe facility for the Southwest Johnson County community.
Friendly, professional, and knowledgeable staff, and Red Cross-certified lifeguards are ready to make your visit to the Gardner Aquatic Center a safe and enjoyable experience. The Aquatic Center features concessions, adult-only swim, and pool party rentals and includes special amenities like zero depth entry, an active in-water play area, lazy river, multiple water slides, floatable walk, climbing nets, spray grounds, and a tot pool – there is plenty to do for people of all ages!

Heritage Park Golf Course
Heritage Park Golf Course is one of the most beautiful courses in the Kansas City metropolitan area offering exceptional tree-lined and links-type holes that provide an interesting, challenging, and picturesque game.
