Logistics Park Kansas City building will total 822,104 square feet
EDGERTON, Kan. (May 5, 2015) – NorthPoint Development has announced the construction of Inland Port XIV, an 822,104 square- foot speculative building at Logistics Park Kansas City (LPKC). In addition to being the largest industrial building constructed on a speculative basis in the Kansas City market, the building will be the first speculative building to feature 36-foot clear height.
“Upon completion of Inland Port XIV, which is expected in December 2015, there will be approximately 3.6 million square feet of new buildings at LPKC. The total future building capacity at LPKC is 17 million square feet,” said Patrick Robinson, Vice President at NorthPoint Development. “We look forward to welcoming a tenant for this spec building and expect to see continued interest in LPKC as shippers continue to evaluate the total costs of real estate occupancy, including the costs of transportation networks.”
“The City of Edgerton is pleased to see the ongoing progress at LPKC, and we are excited to continue our partnership with NorthPoint,” said Mayor Don Roberts of Edgerton. “We knew that NorthPoint was an aggressive partner, but we did not imagine that we would have at least 3.6 million square feet of deliveries over a two year period.”
Southwest Johnson County Economic Development Corp. President Greg Martinette said the project will have a tremendous impact on the region. “The new Inland Port XIV will enable Southwest Johnson County to continue to attract high-quality projects.”
Located in Edgerton, Kansas, a suburb southwest of Kansas City, LPKC is a 1,500-acre master-planned distribution and warehouse development that is anchored by BNSF Railway’s (BNSF) newest intermodal facility, which opened in the 4th quarter of 2013.
