The City of Gardner named former Police Chief Jim Pruetting as its next city administrator. Pruetting holds a master’s degree in management and brings 25 years of managerial experience to his new role. His vast professional background includes strategic planning, municipal law and regulations, operational and budget management, program development, community engagement, human resources management, training, and organizational and policy development. Prior to joining the city in 2015, Pruetting worked for the Kansas City Police Department, serving in various high-level positions. He retired from the department after 31 years of service.
